When you receive your Entrust payment preference form or email you can choose whether you want the September dividend payment credited to your bank account or your power account. However, because prepay customers don’t have a power account, your dividend will be paid to your bank account.

You need to meet three conditions to be eligible for the Entrust dividend:

  • being in the Entrust District on the roll date AND
  • paying Vector electricity lines charges as part of your power bill AND
  • being the person named on the power bill.

The dividend amount varies each year and has not been set yet. It will depend on how many people are eligible to receive the dividend and how much profit is made by Vector, which is 75.1% owned by Entrust. Last year, the dividend was $364.

Just update your payment details on the secure web page or fill out the form that we recently sent and send it back.

No. The dividend is paid to the person/s named on the power bill. It cannot be transferred to someone else or paid to an account in someone else’s name.

Can you change the name to a different name than what’s on my power account?

No. The Entrust dividend is paid to the person/s named on the power bill. That information is provided by your electricity retailer. We do not have access to the records held by the electricity retailers so we cannot change that name. If the details on your power bill are not correct, please contact your electricity retailer.

I have tried to get the name on my account changed and my retailer never does it. Can you change it?

The electricity retailers provide us with the information we need to pay the dividend. We do not have any access their records so we cannot make those changes for you. You need to contact your retailer directly to update your information.

If I give you my bank account number how can I be sure you won't use it for something else.

Entrust can only use your bank account number to pay your dividend directly to your bank account. We have no authority to do anything else, and we have no passwords or numbers other than the number of the account where you want your money paid. Under the Privacy Act the details you provide are kept confidential and used only for the purpose of paying your dividend by direct credit.
